Rāgs of Guru Nanak Sahib

Dedicated to 551st prakash purab of Guru Nanak Sahib, Nad Music Institute is pleased to share the album “Rāgs of Guru Nanak Sahib”.  The project was led by Bhai Iqbal Singh Rozy (brother of Bhai Dilbagh Singh and Bhai Gulbagh Singh). The album includes twenty Rāgs of Guru Nanak Sahib in the Rababi tradition. The stalwarts of Gurbani Sangit, the seven selected ragis, have presented a musical bouquet of various traditions of Gurbani Kirtan

Admiring the work, Manmeet Singh (Filmmaker and Musician from Maryland, USA) mentions “Accompanied with a Rabab, Dilruba, Jori and other instruments of the parampara (tradition), these ragis sing ancient music that creates a nostalgia of sounds heard in Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) generations ago and also inspire future ragis to further this music both in the traditional direction and also explore the non-traditional.  Most importantly, for the simple admirers this album will serve the purpose of starting their day, invoking a meditative state and bring peace and bliss in their tiresome routines and when all other music loses its sheen, this with remain pardhan (superior) in our journey to self-realization and discovery.”
